Part of the Sustainable Stoneham initiative
North Stoneham Community Group runs regular community jumble sales that promote reuse, reduce waste and support sustainable living within the local community.
Our jumble sales provide an opportunity for unwanted items to be reused rather than thrown away, helping to reduce unnecessary waste and encourage more sustainable habits within the community.
They also help bring people together, provide affordable access to everyday items and create opportunities for volunteering and community involvement.
Why We Run Jumble Sales
Our jumble sales are designed to support both the local environment and the wider community.
By encouraging the reuse of clothing, toys, books, household items and other goods, we help extend the lifespan of everyday items and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
The sales also help make affordable items accessible to local residents while creating a welcoming and community-focused environment where people can connect and get involved.
Community & Environmental Benefit
Through our jumble sales, we aim to:
- Promote reuse and reduce waste
- Encourage sustainable living and responsible consumption
- Support affordable community access to everyday items
- Reduce the environmental impact of unnecessary waste
- Bring residents together through community participation
- Create opportunities for volunteering and involvement
All activities are designed to deliver environmental and social benefit to the wider community.
Donations
We welcome donations of clean, good quality items that can be reused by others within the community.
Further information about donation drop-off arrangements will be shared ahead of each sale.
Get Involved
Volunteers play an important role in helping organise and run our jumble sales. Whether helping sort donations, set up tables, welcome visitors or support on the day, every contribution helps support a more sustainable and connected community.
Please visit the volunteer page if you would like to get involved.
