Who We Are

North Stoneham Community Group was formed in 2022 and is a volunteer-led organisation working to improve the local environment and community wellbeing through sustainable initiatives, reducing waste, promoting reuse, supporting community food projects and bringing residents together through community action. We take practical steps that make North Stoneham a greener, more connected place to live. 

What We Do

Our activities are shaped by the needs of the local community and are open to everyone. All activities are designed to deliver environmental and social benefit to the wider community. Activities include:

  • Reducing food waste through the Sustainable Stoneham Community Fridge
  • Supporting sustainable food growing through our Community Garden
  • Promoting reuse and reducing waste through community jumble sales
  • Organising litter picking and environmental improvement activities
  • Running community events that bring people together and promote community wellbeing and sustainable living
  • Working with local partners to support young people and families

How We Are Run

North Stoneham Community Group is run by a team of volunteer Trustees who are responsible for the governance of the organisation. The Trustees oversee our strategy, ensure resources are used effectively and make sure our activities deliver clear community and environmental benefit.

We work in partnership with local organisations, groups and volunteers to maximise our impact and respond to the needs of the community.

Our Community

At the heart of everything we do is a simple idea: small local actions can make a meaningful difference. Whether it’s sharing surplus food, reusing items through jumble sales, planting in the garden, taking part in a litter pick or attending an event, every contribution helps build a stronger, more sustainable North Stoneham.
